Over at my old address, I wrote a blog about some of the things I was obsessed with over the course of a month. I decided that I would continue that blog post but do it seasonally. My bliss list is a list of things that I have become obsessed with. Think of it as AB’s favorite things, kinda like Auntie Oprah’s favorite things, except, I’m not giving them away in front of a live studio audience.
Or Am I? Keep reading…
First up is Elevation Church and Pastor Steve Furtick. I discovered Pastor Steve at a church I attend. Well I actually discovered his voice over an amazing inspirational video that was played right before a church service I attended. It was electric. It had me ready to get all of the things done! I was able to track down the voice because someone tagged his church in the video on FB and I have been a fan of his sermons all Summer long.
There are some Sundays that I attend Bedside Baptist. #dontjudgeme, but I still need a good sermon. Elevation church broadcasts their full sermon on FB as well as YouTube and you can’t tell me I’m not actually in the sanctuary. When I’m not able to catch him live, they post just Pastor Steve’s sermon so that I can catch up on it Sunday night or later during the week. Check him out. You won’t be disappointed with his word.
I spent the Summer months focused on skin care.
I have always struggled with acne and dark spots but I’m determined to make my skin as healthy as possible. I found a skin care regime that has been working for me but I needed something a little extra in between facial visits. I was in Evil mart and saw a display of sheet masks. They were only $2.50 each so I decided to try them out. All Summer I have been using a sheet mask(along with reducing my dairy intake, eating/drinking lots of greens and water) and I love them. Now for $2.50 you’re not going to get an amazing product but for $2.50 what you can get is a soothing skin care treatment and some self care.
I’ve tried several but this one is my favorite. It gives my skin a glow when I use it and I try to use it at least once per month. I may have a full posts on my sheet mask journey coming up soon.
So I bought a camera.
And I am completely obsessed with this thing! I haven’t mastered how to use it but it has an auto mode so I’ve been shooting pics of everything and anyone that will stand still long enough for me to snap a pic. Hopefully you will be able to see my skill develop as I plan to use it to take pics for this blog. If you see me and I’m strapped, pose and smile for me please!
My last obsession is kinda sorta new but not really new. It’s planning. I have been consistently using a pen and paper planner all of 2018. I have a system that has been working for me and I loved. But then…I saw a post on IG about decorative planning. Listen… I’m hooked. I describe it as scrapbook planning.
There is a huge decorative planning community on FB, pinterest, IG and youtube. I have spent the past month gathering supplies, watching vids and stalking IG accounts. I purchased a couple of mini planners for special projects and a larger planner that will replace the one I began using back in January. Look for my IG posts on my calendar spreads showing off my creativity. I have to plan. It’s a way to control my anxiety. Once something is written down, I don’t have to worry about remembering it. I look at decorative therapy as a way to be creative with something I have to do. Creativity is super high vibe activity. So two birds, one cute decorative stone.
I hope you have enjoyed my Summer list. I also want to thank you for reading and subscribing to my blog. While I’m not at Auntie Oprah status, I am giving away a happy planner and some stickers!!!
