A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending a Vision Board party with my sister and friends. We did it right after Christmas so we could get ready for the New Year. We really had a great time!
A Vision Board is a visual representation of your goals and plans. By creating a space where you can display what your goals are, you actually help bring them to fruition. What we focus on expands. And by putting the board in a space where you will see it often is basically a form of daily visualization. Visualization helps what we want come into our life.
I had planned on doing one this year and thought it would be a great idea to do it as a group with some friends. We used poster boards, magazine clippings, and stickers to make our boards. We all brought the supplies we had and sat around for a couple of hours, flipping through magazines, cracking jokes and planning out our boards. It had been a while since this group, named The Round Table after the table we used to sit around back in the day, had been together so we decided to have some of the old party foods we used to have....meatballs, chips and queso dip, pasta salad, and fried chicken. And of course we had drinks!!
It was one of the best parties I had gone to in a long time. The theme of the party being goal setting and positivity really contributed to the overall vibe and I'm still riding that high. So not only am I reminded of my goals when I look at my board, I also am reminded of that high vibe night I spent with my girls.
Although the year has already started, it's not too late to set some goals, grab your good #GoalFriends, some food and drinks and have a vision board party of your own.
