So I have a new baby. On February 2, 2019, I picked up the new addition to my family, a Lhasa poo mix, that I named Mylo, short for my love. And for the past two months, he has been an amazing friend and companion. He's a total mama's boy! And just as sweet as he is mischievous. It took us a few weeks but we finally have each other trained.
Living with Mylo is like living with a two year old and a newborn baby. He has the energy, mobility and curiosity of a two year old and the sleeping habits of a new born baby. As a pet parent that values early bedtimes and early wakeups this was a difficult transition. But I learned that his 7:00pm nap is a big no no if I want him to fall asleep by 9:30 and stay asleep through the night.
It's been 16 years since I had a new puppy in my house. I had forgotten how much energy they have and how much play time they need. With Mocha, she had gotten to the point where she only needed to be fed and walked for a few minutes and then she pretty much just chilled. Well this lil baby is totally different. There are morning walks, lunch walks, evening walks, morning playtime, lunch playtime and evening playtime. Not to mention the middle of the night bathroom yelps that wake me up out of my sleep. Thankful those are getting fewer and farther between.
There are also the daily morning hugs and kisses that he gives me when I get up in the morning, the excited look on his face whenever I come home and let him out of his cage, and the unconditional love that I see when I look at him...even after a scolding.
While i'm currently on a social media fast, Mylo does have his own Instagram account where I will be sharing photos of him. I made his own page as to not fill up my page with daily pics of him that may bore my followers. You can follow him @meetmylo_g
The G is for Grace. I named him after my grandmother because he was born on her birthday, Decemenber 18. I didn't think I was ready for another dog but when I saw him for the first time, I had to have hm. Then when I found out his birthdate I knew I had made the right choice.
I'm looking forward to many years of fun and love with My Love!
