We are just about a week from the first day of Summer. It's been such a hot Spring where I live that it has felt like Summer for about a month now.
For the past year or so, I have been a seasonal person...doing my planning and goal setting around the seasons of the year. As I plan my season, I like to include the books I plan to read for that season.
I don't think I posted a Winter or Spring reading list. #Lazy but I did get some reading. I FINALLY finished Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki. It took me a while to read that one. I realized that as much as I like reading, I think some books are better as audio books. RDPD probably fits into that category. So I'm currently searching for good audio book apps and sites(let me know if the one you use is DOPE)
I also read Becoming by Michelle Obama. I may devote an entire post to that one, since I was also able to get to the tour! I picked up The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz and re-read it . It's an annual read for me. I like reading it around my birthday. Why? I don't know. It just feels right to read it then. *shrugs* I finished out the Winter and Spring with The Weight is Over, by Syleena Johnson. It was pretty good. She has an amazing story on learning to love your body.
My Summer reading lists includes five books. I'm reading The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson, as my personal development choice for the season. For my vacation reading, I picked up The Wedding Date, by Jasmine Guillory out of the romance section. I always like to read something light while I'm on vacation. I'm hoping it will pair well with ocean breezes and pina colada's by the pool!
I'm in a small online book club and one of the members suggested we read Good Intentions, by Lakina Ramsey. Lakina is a college alumnus and I'm looking forward to reading that one and maybe reaching out for a discussion with her on it.
I picked up The Path Made Clear by Auntie Oprah and I plan to dive into that one this Summer also. Finally, there is Educated by Tara Westover. Michelle Obama stated that this was the last book she read when I saw her on the tour. So I decided to grab it.
While it's not on my Summer Reading list and since #PrinceDay just passed, I had to mention a book I'm looking forward to getting. Prince: The Beautiful Ones(Memoir) is scheduled to be released October 25, 2019. I plan to pre-order it next month. Expect a FULL blog post on that one this Fall!
