In December, I attended a Vision board party with some friends. We had an amazing time, talking, laughing, and creating goals for 2019.
I have my board on the wall across from my bed, so that I see it when I wake up and before I go to bed at night. It's a reminder to stay focused on my goals for the year.
I set goals for all five areas of my life that I focus on...Faith, Fitness, Family, Finance and Fun. Since I created the board in December, I have added a few things to it, randomly. But now that we are almost half way through the year, I decided to refresh the board.
My fitness gig mentor, sent me a picture of the idea and vision board she uses. It's a clear dry erase board. Another lady that I follow on social media, creates a digital vision board, prints it out and puts in a frame. I decided to combine their ideas with mine for my refresh.
I used some of the original photos and inspiration from my first board, but I also added in a few more that I printed out. I framed it in a 16x20 picture frame. That allows me to write on the glass with dry erase markers. I write my monthly goals on the glass and at the end of the month I can wipe it clean and start fresh with the next month, while still having my 2019 inspiration in clear view. I also have a cork board beside it that I can add inspirational notes and pics too. I'm pleased with the way it turned out.
One of the updates I made to my board was to the family section. I spent Winter and Spring, really making sure that I was healthy emotionally. So on my original board, there was no space for romantic love. But I now know that I'm open to start dating seriously again. So I have relationship and love on my board. I told my friends that I was nervous about putting it on my board. And I'm even more nervous about sharing it on here. At my age, sometimes being open to a relationship can be misinterpreted as looking for a relationship and being desperate. I'm not. While having a partner would be great, I'm completely happy. I'm whole. I'm not looking for anyone to complete me. I'm also not looking for anyone to make me happy. I'm happy and I'm looking for someone to share that with.
I'm so excited to see what the rest of 2019 will bring to me. A closer connection to God, getting into the best physical and mental health of my life, even stronger family connections that may include romantic love, increased income and financial security, and having the most fun EVER!
