This is one of my favorite gifs. It's from the HBO show Insecure. In this episode, Issa has decided that she will not cyber stalk her ex's new girlfriend. Kelly lets her know exactly what that is...lol. Later she decides to stalk her so she still has some growing to do. LOL
But don't we all? I know I do. One of my issues is lack of consistency. I set a goal, I start seeing results, and then I slack of what I was doing to get those results. I then have to start over again, and the cycle continues. I'm reading about this in the book The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson. Those small tasks, that get us results over a consistent basis are the very things that we tend to stop doing once we see a little progress. The people that continue to do them are the successful people that we admire. Think about personal trainers and how they eat the same foods over an over again. We say, 'i can't eat that' and then wonder why our six pack never shows up!
For the month of July, my word of the month is growth. I want to grow beyond getting a little bit of success or getting a little close to my goals. I want to grow past stopping when things start to work only to have to start over again. So I am challenging myself to grow, not change.
I think that trying to change sets the tone that who I am is wrong. I want to grow. I don't want to be a different Alice. I want to be a better Alice. I want to grow in my faith, my personal and business fitness goals, my relationships, and financially.
