As we enter the New Year, I’m sure there are goals being set, new habits being created and the dumping of old habits. As we enter our new routines it can be discouraging when what we expected or what we want to work doesn’t. It’s easy to scrap the entire goal and give up. But there is a better solution.
My intention is to wake up at 4:30am during the weekdays to execute my morning routine which would include time for me to work on my coaching business before my workout. As a morning person, I thought this would be the best time to get things done so that I can have my afternoons free to just relax. Well here we are two weeks into the New Year and all I have done is hit snooze every morning. This morning I decided that I still wanted to put time into my Coaching business every day. If I can work 40 hours per week on someone else’s business, I can give 8-16 hours per week to mine. But I have realized that getting up that early to do it is not working for me. So instead of quitting, I am editing my routine. I am working on getting in those 16 hours throughout the day and on weekends so that I can keep working toward my goal.
So as you start tackling those goals and new habits, when something doesn’t work or stops working, don’t give up…EDIT!
How have you had to edit some of your routines to reach your goals?
